Paul Ian Chippendale - Permanent Researcher
Paul
received his PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Lancaster in 1998. After working for Philips Electronics as a Research Scientist in France and Italy, on topics such as 3G video transmission and video enhancements for LCD televisions, he joined Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Trento, Italy) in 2004. His current research interests include: Augmented Reality, outdoor scene understanding, ad-hoc camera networks, people tracking, gesture interpretation, user generated content, sports activity analysis, geoinformatics, etc. In addition to his research activities, he is also actively engaged in the generation of new funding opportunities for the Foundation through the formulation and management of EU projects, seeking out new industrial collaborations as well as managing internal projects and PhD student tutoring. |
